在一本以西文發行的《黃帝內經素問》看我一直很感興趣的這段

「靈蘭秘典」的翻譯是The Sacred Teachings

內經原文是

心者，君主之官也，神明出焉。肺者，相傅之官，治節出焉。肝者，將軍之官，謀慮出焉。膽者，中正之官，決斷出焉。膻中者，臣使之官，喜樂出焉。脾胃者，倉廩之官，五味出焉。大腸者，傳道之官，變化出焉。小腸者，受盛之官，化物出焉。腎者，作強之官，伎巧出焉。三焦者，決瀆之官，水道出焉。膀胱者，州都之官，津液藏焉，氣化則能出矣。

翻譯真的不容易，如果不知道有中文原文，從英文翻譯回中文，不知會如何？

The heart is the sovereign of all organs and represents the consciousness of one's being. It is responsible for intelligence, wisdom, and spiritual transformation.

肺者，相傅之官，治節出焉。

The lung is the advisor. It helps the heart in regulating the body's qi.

肝者，將軍之官，謀慮出焉。

The liver is like the general, courageous and smart.

膽者，中正之官，決斷出焉。

The gallbladder is like a judge for its power of discernment.

膻中者，臣使之官，喜樂出焉。

The pericardium is like the court jester who makes the king laugh, bringing forth joy.

脾胃者，倉廩之官，五味出焉。

Thr stomach and spleen are like warehouses where one stores all the food and essences. They digest, absorb, and extract the food and nutrients.

大腸者，傳道之官，變化出焉。

The large intestine is responsible for transportation of all turbidity. All waste products go through this organ.

小腸者，受盛之官，化物出焉。

The small intestine receives the food that has been digested by the spleen and stomach and further extracts, absorbs and distributes it throughout the body, all the while separating the pure from the turbid.

腎者，作強之官，伎巧出焉。

The kidneys store the vitality and mobilize the four extremities. The also aid the memory, willpower, and coordination.

三焦者，決瀆之官，水道出焉。

The sanjiao, or the three visceral cavities, promotes the transformation and transportation of water and fluids throughout the body.

膀胱者，州都之官，津液藏焉，氣化則能出矣。

The bladder is where the water converges and where, after being catalyzed by the qi, it is eliminated.

翻譯的恰不恰當理不理想可以討論，一句話「辛苦啦！」，不容易！
